Devon Aoki for Kenzo S/S 2014 Campaign

Devon Aoki is my favorite model of all time. Hands down. She symbolizes the late 90s and early 2000s for me, which was a more memorable time while growing up. Starring in movies like DOA, Sin City, D.E.B.S, and 2 Fast 2 Furious (those pink cargos were A M A Z I N G), she was feminine, avant garde, gangstah, and badass in her acting/(frequently active) modeling days.  I'm a bit late on this, but I just saw these Kenzo ads for their Spring/Summer 2014 campaign and just started LIVING.

Shot by Pierpaolo Ferrari the ads are fun and quirky, relaying the sea inspiration for s/s 2014 nicely. The collection is all about bright prints, color blocking, and light weight materials, which are a perfect inspiration to translate into every day wear in Hawaii. It makes total sense as we locals are:

1. Surrounded by the ocean
2. Ingest a large amount of raw fish/sea critters
3. Have an appreciation for aloha wear? Like loud prints? Jam's World? (this is subjective)
4. Live in a warm environment, thus light weight pieces are a must

Take notes guys. Or if you're already channeling the look, you're applauded.
