Summer Movie List!

With summer school just starting and the fact that my relatives are visiting, consistently posting hasn't been happening. I really want to do an outfit of the day and a mini haul post soon, but until then, here is a list of movies my boyfriend and I have created. Some of these movies are ones that I've already seen, but really want to watch again and gaze at his reactions as he watches some good ass films. Staples in life such as "Zoolander" and "Fight Club" are some movies that he has yet to see. I don't know how he got up to being 23 years old without seeing them, but I guess this summer is the summer to start his re-education of movies and culture!

Top 6:
1. Logan’s Run
I I love dystopias. Or rather, I love stories involving dystopias. I have since 11th grade, AP English, when I first read George Orwell's 1984. I saw this DVD at Walmart in the $5 bin but was too cheap to invest in it. I figure Blockbuster will let me borrow it for 99 cents anyways.

2. Rushmore
I love Wes Anderson. My goal for this summer is to watch all his movies!

3. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
This goes hand in hand with what was mentioned in #2. Also, a friend of mine told me this is his favorite Wes Anderson movie. I'm intrigued because I still think "The Royal Tennenbaums" is the best, even though "Moonrise Kingdom" was ridiculously bomb.

4. Fear and Loathing Las Vegas
Johnny Depp.

5. Audition
After watching "Ace Attorney" and "Sukiyaki Western Django", I became interested in Takashi Miike's films and heard that this is like his SICKEST film and that it has developed a cult following. It happens to be so sick that Rob Zombie has said he finds it difficult to watch. I'm scared yet intrigued at the same time.

6. Lolita
There are so many references to this film that I need to see it. Those heart shaped sunglasses alone entice me.

Other films (some I've watched already but the BF hasn't yet):
Gang’s of New York
The Other Guys
Zoolander
Zombieland
Blood Diamond
Hotel Rwanda
The Royal Tennenbaums
The Virgin Suicides
Thor
Fight Club
Sweeny Todd
Blow
Benny & Joon
Cry Baby
Heathers
East of Eden
Somewhere
Paprika
Metropolis
The Fantastic Mr. Fox
Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Beck
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time

Are there any other movies you guys might want to suggest to me? I love movies so I'll watch anything!

  1. I absolutely love Audition, it is so dark and unsettling and the climax scene is so intense! In the same sort of vein you should really try Confessions following a teacher who is trying to find out what happened to her child who died on school premises by psychological abusing the children!

    1. My boyfriend watched "Ichi the Killer" and said that was intense so I don't know...I will grow some balls and watch it eventually though. "Confessions" sounds interesting, I'll look into that, thank you! :D
