Food in Fashion

When the f/w 2014 collections came out I didn't think I'd utter the words, "I'm hungry". You see, fashion people are always hungry for more, whether it's clothes, jewelry, handbags, shoes, etc. Most times, our literal hunger for food is not satisfied (we're too busy to eat/drink!). This time, both cravings were satisfied (somewhat). With Karl Lagerfeld leading the forefront for an army of fashion foodies to a Chanel supermarket/fashion show, many other designers too, found inspiration in food as well. Here are my favorite examples:

Chanel - accessories are Chanel bags in poultry wrap and chain detailed carrying carts
Moschino - came out strong with McDonald's inspired pieces and ended with junk food packaging

Anya Hindmarch - Kellog's, detergent, and overall household brand inspired handbags

Here's just a few of my 2013 Resort favorites that I'm obsessed with translating into my own wardrobe. Philosophy has really captured the perfect western/boho femininity that I've been visualizing for quite some time. The prints and sharp color blocking from Prabal Gurung are a galaxy away from what I'm used to wearing but the collection itself is gorgeous. Can we just focus on those white shoes outlined in black? From Veronica Beard, this is a brand I know nothing about but, leaves me wanting to find out more after seeing this collection. Romper suits and re-modeled women's tuxedos are an exciting thing, especially since I've just graduated from college and need to add some professional "career lady" pieces to my wardrobe. Finally Emanuel Ungaro mixes the right amount of American sportswear with floral accents. A clashing but exciting idea that totally makes sense. I mean, athletes probably spend more time around the flora and fauna than any of us fashion connoisseurs right?

Any more thoughts about the collections posted are welcome! Let me know what your favorite 2013 Resort collections are. I will be posting more from Resort once I can review them all.
